TV Appearances
Clay’s never short on words personality and success at the race track with ESPN and NHRA Drag Racing has landed him some unique opportunities away from the track. Speed TV and TV producer Rich Christensen recognized his unique appeal to Drag Racing fans and selected Clay as Host for the Speed TV Drag Race High Series for 2009. Clay also hosted the series Blow It Up for Speed TV in 2007.

He is colorful, energetic and genuine in his love for the sport, his team, and his sponsors, and that passion comes through in everything he does. In short, he is an asset to the race team and his sponsors both on and off the track.

MPE
In 2008, Memphis businessman, Mark Pickens, took on a new business challenge, NHRA Top Fuel Team Owner. After a few years sponsoring Clay’s Top Fuel team Mark decided to take on the race team business with his wife Lauren.

Mark’s not short on business and racing success. He’s been a successful Top Sportsman racer and understands what it takes to win on the race track and in the board room. His board room success stems from several businesses such as the Armstrong Relocation family of companies.

Armstrong employs over 1,450 full-time employees and owner-operators, dispatches nearly 500 trucks, and operates over 1,000,000 square feet of warehouse space. Mark and his business partners are recognized leaders within the industry.

Armstrong is one of the largest hauling and booking agents within the entire United system of nearly 500 agencies across America. Mark is focused in bringing the same successes to MPE Motorsports as he has done with other businesses.
